Squeeze Casting, also known as Liquid Metal Forging, is a metal forming process that combines the characteristics of casting and forging. Its core principle is to apply high pressure (usually 70~200MPa) after the metal liquid (or semi-solid slurry) fills the mold, so that the molten metal solidifies under pressure to obtain high-density, high-performance castings.

The squeeze casting process has significant advantages:
 Ultra-high density. The internal structure of the squeeze casting parts is more dense, and the high pressure (much higher than ordinary die casting) eliminates shrinkage holes and pores, and the density of the castings is close to the level of forgings (porosity <1%).

 Excellent mechanical properties. The denser internal structure makes the mechanical properties of the parts, such as yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, hardness, etc., significantly better than traditional die castings.

High-strength materials can be processed. Suitable for aluminum alloys, such as A356, etc.

Near-net shaping, reducing processing. High dimensional accuracy (IT8~IT10), low surface roughness (Ra 1.6~6.3μm), reducing subsequent machining.

Can form complex structures (such as reinforcing ribs, special-shaped cavities). Especially more suitable for casting A356 materials.
 
 Our aluminum squeeze castings also allow for weldable parts.
 
 Energy saving and environmental protection. Compared with forging, no multiple heating and forging are required, and energy consumption is lower. At the same time, the material utilization rate is high (less waste, no cutting waste).
Our squeeze casting service process

1. Customer need to provide detailed drawings of the parts to be produced.
Note: This includes 3D drawings, three-view drawings, and material specifications.

2. Our mold engineers will design the mold based on the drawings, including the design of the gating system, mold opening and closing positions, slide block design, and the quantity of cavities.
Note: The mold material we typically use is H13 mold steel. For special products, we may use other steel grades such as 8407 and 8418. The theoretical lifespan of the mold is at least 300,000 shots. In actual production cooperation, we only charge one mold fee per part, and no further mold-related fees will be charged. We will provide a new mold free of charge after the mold reaches its lifespan.
As squeeze casting uses vertical, multi-stage high-pressure die casting, the mold design needs to retain a larger margin and add venting channels.

3. Raw Material Preparation.
Note: We have high-quality raw material suppliers who provide casting raw materials with qualified and stable composition. We also conduct our own spectral analysis to ensure the material composition is up to standard.

4. Squeeze Casting Mold Adjustment and Sample Inspection.
Note: During casting, we will adjust the pressure, number of pressurization cycles, and holding time according to the part's structure and dimensions. We will cast a small number of samples to test the part's appearance, dimensions, and mechanical properties to ensure its quality.

5. Mass Production of Parts.

6. Surface Cleaning Treatment.
Note: Removal of risers and gates, shot blasting, and ultrasonic cleaning to remove oil stains according to different customer and part requirements.

7. We can perform T6 heat treatment on parts according to customer requirements for strength and hardness.

8. Surface Treatment.
Note: We can perform surface treatments such as painting, powder coating, electrophoresis, and anodizing according to customer specifications.

9. Parts Quality Inspection.
Note: Finished parts undergo random or full inspection to ensure the casting parts are up to standard.

10. Packaging.
Note: We have a clean packaging workshop that will securely package the finished parts to ensure they are not damaged during transportation.
